Drifter

For the Drifter, the wood is the star. The body is an all-American classic T-style shape made of beautiful mahogany and accented with ergonomic contours. The neck is made of cherry with a tasteful mother-of-pearl accent inlay to let the marbled ebony fretboard shine. Finally, a medallion of contrasting cherry and maple is inlaid behind the bridge—inspired by the masters of a traditional Japanese woodworking craft called "yosegi", one of whom I visited while traveling in Hakone, Japan.

Groovemaster

The Groovemasters are for when you're feeling flashy. This pair of offset guitars are inspired by the ergonomics of a Jazzmaster and the visual flair of 1990's icon Lisa Frank. They rock a vibrant fabric top, unique purple fret markers, custom-made pickups, and a string-through hardtail bridge for sustain and stability.

Brothers

The "Brothers" series began with a piece of wood that wasn't good enough. Originally, the plan was to make a single guitar with a clear finish, but when the piece I ordered had cracks, scuffs, and wormholes, I knew it wouldn't work out as I planned.Fortunately, StewMac was kind enough to send a replacement and told me to keep the subpar piece. Well, it couldn't go to waste, could it?So I decided to make two guitars, side-by-side. Brothers! They'd be different (fretboard material, fret size, finish, built-in fuzz pedal!) but connected through the simultaneous learning process.

Dustbrother

Dustbrother is a straightforward, no-nonsense Telecaster-style solid body electric. Built and hand carved from swamp ash, rock maple, and padauk with a traditional three-saddle brass bridge, it's a true classic.Dustbrother sports a set of Seymour Duncan / Brad Paisley La Brea pickups, giving it the perfect range from twangy sparkle to smooth and groovy. The finishing touch: The custom-made knobs are cast in epoxy resin with leftover padauk dust from the fretboard, making a perfect match!

Stormbrother

Stormbrother is mean. It starts from the same swamp ash body, but with a maple neck and fretboard, a modern 6-saddle bridge, and a little extra inside. The matching pick guard hides a cavity with a JHS 3-series Fuzz pedal built right in! Pull up on the guitar's volume knob and the fuzz roars into action, taking the modern Fender pickups from simple to searing. Not content simply with technology, Stormbrother also sports a hand-painted watercolor thundercloud to match the tone of this monster.

Made it to the end, huh? Nice!If you like what you see, get in touch below!

About Me

Red Pine Guitars is a one-man operation run by me, Andy Lamont Kreienkamp. An artist by training and a hobbyist by nature, I was inspired to explore the fascinating discipline of guitar building thanks to an excellent series of videos from Tchiks Guitars on YouTube after the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. With some woodworking lessons from my dad Carl (thanks for the help, dad!) and some prior experience building guitar pedals, Red Pine Guitars have come to life!I currently reside in Minneapolis, Minnesota with my lovely and encouraging wife, and two curious kitties (who are not allowed in the workshop). When I’m not working on guitar projects, you can find me in the gym, in a hammock, or thirty minutes into an ambient groove with plenty of reverb! If you’d like to get in touch, drop me a line in the contact form below! You can also find my Bandcamp page here, where I periodically upload some quiet ambient tracks.Cheers!
